Working with the Sustainable Soil and Grassland Department under the supervision of Professor Jennifer Dungait. Research title: Investigating the loss of dissolved organic carbon from grassland fields through the use of carbon quantification and compound characterisation within field inputs. Summary: Investigating the effects Festulolium spp. grass (in connection with the SUREROOT project) on carbon cycling within field through performing bulk C isotopic analysis, dissolved organic carbon analysis and thermochemolysis TMAH pyrolysis gas chromatography mass spectrometry.       -Solely responsible for the operation of a 12 person chalet in the French Alps during the winter season. -Duties include budget planning, food preparation, being on hand as a source of information and company for guests throughout their stay and upkeep and maintenance of the chalet. -After two months of careful stock management, I successfully brought the chalet back under budget from its previous host with savings of €500.       -Elected as the first Face to Face staff council representative by peers, meeting monthly, as part of the company's shift to employee ownership management structure.-Responsible for representing my constituents at monthly meetings. Harnessing the ‘collective intelligence’ of co-owner peers to identify, question, challenge and develop the company’s direction whilst upholding the wishes of our founder’s ethos statement. -Within the role, I wrote monthly outreach newsletters, disseminating council discussion and engaging my peers with the company’s movements.
