      Jul 2004 - Sept 2005
      Service Desk Analyst

The Leeds Learning Network is part of the Leeds City Council and is responsible for providing the internet and other services for educational establishments around the Leeds area. These establishments include schools, libraries, learning centres, museums etc. At the Leeds Learning Network (LLN) my main duty was to provide technical support for the users of the LLN service. Many of the problems that had to be resolved came in the form of telephone calls to the service desk or via email. These calls had to be logged in a system called Richmond, which is used to update and close the calls. This has helped me with my problem solving and communication skills especially as it has given me the opportunity to utilise this skill within a customer-facing environment. It also gave me the opportunity to tackle highly technical issues on a daily basis. I was also responsible for registering domain names for the LLN users and setting up web space so they could develop websites. Show less
