  Qi Creative is an innovative practice that provides "outside the box" services to children, families, and schools living with special needs and trauma in Edmonton and around Alberta. Our practice supports hundreds of children and families living with special needs through one on one success coaching, the Qi Adventure Club (inclusive adventure based activities), and Qi iQ (an online community providing access to learning resources and materials). We have also provided support to numerous school divisions through Qi University programs (training and professional development workshops). Qi Creative is sought out to share its practice and innovative model at conferences around the world and I have had the opportunity to co-present the My Name is Trauma speakers series both locally at Alberta Education Teacher Conventions and internationally in Australia and the Philippines. This has generated more awareness about trauma, its impact on the developing brain, and how to create resilience through play, so that more people can move from victim to survivor.As the Chief Operating Officer for Qi Creative, I am responsible for the development, design, operation, and improvement of the systems that are created and delivered. I ensure that daily practice operations are efficient and effective and that proper guidance and management is in place to support the overall function and flow of the practice. Since Qi Creative is a growing practice, I find that I wear many different “shoes”: I am an administrator, a human resource manager, a marketer, a designer, a communications leader, a success coach, and a registered social worker, all the while creating outstanding operations for our practice. Mostly, I have the honor of Collaborating, Creating, Coaching, and Celebrating the awesome strengths and talents of my colleagues and the amazing children, families, and schools that we serve.
