This project was in mixed ground and comprised twin bored tunnels running from the end of an underground ramp near Shankar Vihar to Hauz Khas Metro Station. Asil was also involved in work on cut & cover, top down and bottom-up underground metro stations at Vasant Vihar, Munirka, R.K. Puram, IIT and Hauz Khas. Post completion he submitted a project report and received a preplacement offer from L&T Construction subject to completion of his undergraduate studies in Jun 2015. Show less

  Roles- Section Engineer, Construction Planner & Design CoordinatorDisciplines- Metro RailJun-2016 to Sep-2019Client- L&T-STEC JV (Larsen & Toubro + Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Company)Project- Mumbai Metro Line 3-UGC-01As a Senior Design Engineer (civil), Asil was involved in the design and construction of the underground section of Mumbai Metro Line 3 in hard ground, also known as the 33.5km long Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ corridor, which links the Cuffe Parade business district in the south of Mumbai to SEEPZ in the north-central area of the city. The project included underground stations at Cuffe Parade, Vidhan Bhavan, Church Gate and Hutatma Chowk, and associated bored tunnel, together with two tunnel sidings at Cuffe Parade.Asil worked on design co-ordination, measurement billing and material requisition generation for TBM launch and tunnelling operations. He also liaised with planning and design teams to prepare the TBM launch shaft, set up TBM ancillaries and back-up systems. The project required the lowering and operation of two EPB / Rock Dual Mode XRE Crossover Robbins TBMs for a 4.2km stretch of two main tunnels, using twin TBMs, including two 200m stabling tunnels using NATM. He also assisted in tendering with technical comparison and selection of TBMs for package 1 of the successful bid for Line 3 of the underground Mumbai Metro Line 3, the C-B-S corridor.
