    • Arthur Andersen & Co.

      Jan 1998 - Jan 2002
      Manager

At Arthur Andersen I led projects that helped determine the effectiveness of training. This included analysis of post-course surveys and using the data to improve courses. I analyzed survey data as well as HR enterprise data to demonstrate that training brings value to the business. About 50% of my time was spent teaching business enabling skills such as Effective Presentations and Effective Meetings. One of my most successful studies was published in the journal Evaluation and Program Planning. The article is titled, "Using Survival Analysis to Demonstrate the Effects of Training on Employee Retention". Show less

    • KPMG

      Jun 2006 - Feb 2010
      Assoc Director of Performance Measurement

I led the Performance Measurement (training evaluation) group within the Center for Learning and Development. While there, I built a sustainable measurement strategy for the Learning and Development teams across the Audit, Tax and Advisory pratices in the US firm. The measurement team's goal was to demonstrate the effectiveness of all learning programs and make suggestions for improvement. We did so by leveraging systems (Metrics That Matter and QuestionMark Perception) and building capabilities among L&D professionals to run reports, interpret results and make data-based decisions.Every year I worked with a diverse team of four other HR and learning professionals to write the application for the Training Top 125 Award. My role was to bring information and insight about the measurement processes that demonstrated the effectiveness of learning interventions. All four years, KPMG placed in the top 10 on the list.
