  For most of my life I’ve wanted to work with kids; basically since I was a kid myself. In high school, I was a counselor for middle school youth camp. In college, I interned at my church youth group part time and was a counselor and worship leader. I received my BS in Social Sciences and acquired a teaching credential so I could work with youth, specifically teenagers in high school.I loved teaching; it was a complete lifestyle for me. I lived in Malibu, so I would see students and parents all around in the community or in the water, which gave me ample opportunities to deepen relationships with them off campus. I found I was able to relate and communicate in a unique way with my students, especially those who were labeled “disruptive” or “rebels” by my colleagues. In the classroom, I was their teacher, but I was also their friend. We maintained a level of respect for each other, which I intentionally established through my classroom environment. I often counseled students and TAs who would open up and tell me about their struggles, and was an advisor for numerous clubs. Once I was married and wanted to have children, my dream of being a stay home mom would not work while being a full time History teacher. So I got my real estate license while teaching, to work with my husband at Prudential Malibu Realty, but soon realized it was not the career for me. With the encouragement of a friend in the fashion industry, I decided to transform my passionate hobby for jewelry design into a successful business, and have been working there ever since.   Native Californian and Malibu resident Heather Gardner started her jewelry business without any formal training in the summer of 2006. Her passion for jewelry design began in high school and college, as she would find herself lost for hours surrounded by gemstones, designing her own pieces, or adding new elements to the jewelry she owned. She ultimately gave up an established career in Education to delve into her creative passion, and her company Tiger Lily Collections was born.The business quickly expanded and Heather decided to change her company brand to her own name, as she desired to add even more of a personal touch to her designs. On January 1, 2012, Tiger Lily Collections became Heather Gardner, a jewelry line that blends nature’s beauty within a modern trend-setting composition. Each Collection is designed for women who are exhilarated by living a life full of adventure and exploration but also enveloping themselves in the elegance and glamour that life offers. California’s diverse landscape of endless coastlines, hidden dramatic canyons, and mountainous regions, have provided ample opportunities for Gardner to explore and take pleasure in. As a global traveler and outdoor adventurer, she seeks to capture the essence of the world’s beauty in her designs as well as the essence of earth, femininity and fashion. The color palate of the minerals, gemstones, and crystal selected reflect the colors she has discovered in the places that inspire her most.Heather Gardner graces the likes of celebrities like Vanessa Hudgens, Guliana Rancic, Christina Applegate, Kourtney Kardashian, Kristin Stewart, among a few. The jewelry is also featured in prominent print media such as Glamour, InStyle, Lucky, C Magazine, and was has been featured featured on numerous models in Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue in 2011-2017.
