The main duties included tractor work, shifting sheep and cattle breaks, drenching/drafting/tailing sheep and lambs, shifting roto-rainer irrigators and assisting during harvest by driving grain trucks and cleaning/filling/unfilling grain silos. The majority of the work was completed during school/university breaks and occasionally during weekends over the course of the year.

  Geotechnical Engineer on the Christchurch Northern Corridor Alliance between the New Zealand Transport Authority, Christchurch City Council, Fulton Hogan, Jacobs and Aurecon. The project involves the detailed design and construction of a new four lane motorway (the Northern Arterial), the four laning of existing roads (QEII Drive and Cranford St) and new walking and cycling pathways. My reponsibilities include detailed design (bridge abutments and related ground improvement) and construction monitoring of the physical works. I am also the project manager for Jacobs. Show less
