  During the prepration of new global field guide for the prepration, implementation and evaluation of measles-rubella national vaccination campaign by WHO, I have supported WHO HQ/IVB - Immunization, vaccines and Biologicals department to finalized Microsoft Excel based macro/microplanning tools for different level of facilities, prepare a manual and power point presentation of the tool. First objective of the tool was to calcuate the costs during the initial campaign planning, which takes place one year or more prior to the actual vaccination campaign, in such a way that it uses information already available not only at the national level but also from the districts and the local level. These tools were linked when the final planning at local level is made. It eaisy incorporates available inputs from the initial campaign planning exercise. The second objective of the tool was to calculate final costs, starting with the local level, two months prior to the campaign, in such a way that, when the health centre level plans are finalized, the local level data can automatically be inputted into the final district level microplanning tool and final national level microplanning tool.
