  While a chaplain resident at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, I had the fortunate opportunity to develop a pastoral care specialty entitled, Using Interactive Imagery to Promote Narrative Theology in the Bone Marrow Unit. I have felt as though I have learned much that will aid me as a future staff chaplain. I have also had the opportunity to lead debriefing sessions with the nurses on the BMT unit to give them an opportunity to talk with one another, and with me, about the stresses of working on this unit and how they take care of themselves when they get the opportunity. I led a session in the Medical Intensive Care Unit as well after a particularly difficult time in patient care in which I performed a Blessing of the Hands service. Show less
