  During the period as a PHO Volunteer, I was performing the following responsibilities:• Implementation of WASH activities within the sub county to address four main key WASH practices, which involved fecal management, safe water, hand washing techniques, and menstrual management. Among other activities include the Community WASH thus, Community Total Led Sanitation (CLTS), Household Water Treatment (HHWT), Health Facility WASH activities and School WASH, which include Primary Health Care services.• Community strategy activities, which involved the selection, training of CHEWs and CHAs, formation of different community units and supervision of CHEWs/CHAs in Matayos and Samia Sub Counties of Busia County.• Planning and implementation of general Environmental health activities, integrated insect vector, vermin and rodent control, mobilization and sensitization of community on environmental issues.• Offering stewardships on the Planning, Implementation and supervision of KEPI activities with full involvement in Polio (SNIDS) campaigns.• Conducting different Health Education and promotion issues of HIV/AIDS in the CUs and CBOs and ensuring integration of WASH-HAIV/AIDS within such communities.• Doing regular communication and advocacy and disease surveillance; followed by data collection, data cleaning, data entry, compilation, analysis and doing final reporting of the same.   As an INTER-PERSONAL COMMUNITY AGENT, I was Coordinating various SBCC Activities and Stewarding the Implementation of various VMMC protocols and provisions within the sub county, among other duties:• Administering questionnaires to the booked study participants in the field, and where possible offer translation to various scripts. • Travelling to all the different study sites to meet up with the study participants, to conduct interviews for the identified study participants.• Identifying and Tracking all the potential study participants, who were majorly the young adolescents and youths who had at one point interacted with VMMC exercise, and benefited from the services rendered to them. • Administering the various questionnaires to the youths within the localities, who were to take part in the interview process.• Facilitating the Focused Group Discussion interviews with the youths at various points within their localities where the exercise was taking place.• Moderation of various sessions with the youths as they were handling the questions in the questionnaires. • Ensuring regular communication and coordination with the Research supervisors while at the field to ensure consistency in data collection to omit possible errors.• Offering Supervisory support, Monitoring of VMMC activities and coordination of Male Circumcision mobilization activities at the community level within the entire subcounty.I was also offering Technical Assistance during the Social Mobilization exercises.   As a Public Health Officer Volunteer, I was rendering the following services within the community:Screening, Linkages and referrals of PLWHS to other levels of care givers.• Provision of health education and health talks to all healthcare seekers at specific days and dates, on issues of HIV/AIDS in the CUs and CBOs. Also HV/AIDS care integration.• Adherence counseling for HAART and TB medication/screening; and referrals to hospice, following communication and advocacy. • Follow ups on and prevention care, especially for the HIV/AIDS victims with Food supplementation to the underweight to those PLWHS.• Provider Initiated Testing, Couple testing and counseling (PITC).• Involvement in support groups, involved in research activities within the local community settings within Bunyala Sub county.• Spiritual care through the chaplaincy department and health care workers.• Data collection, data cleaning, data entry, compilation of reports, analysis and final presentation of the well written report, following field outreach activities.• Planning, implementation and supervision HAART activities with full involvement in anti-campaigns.   As the Sub County Mobilisation and Demand Creation Officer, I have been tasked with the following duties and responsibilities in the organisation:.Coordinating and implementing various targeted social mobilisation activities in collaboration with the MOH Sub County health promotion department and community strategy services officer.•Conducting sub county mapping together with other VMMC team leads to ensure that program mobilization resources are effectively allocated.•Providing leadership and mentorship to all other associate mobilisers, the CHVs, CHCs and other CHEWs in line with the MOH set standards, and whilst upholding work ethics at regional level.•Ensure that other associate mobilisers are aware of the set regional MC targets for the VMMC clinical teams within the sub county, and ensure that the targets are achieved.•Technically supporting the CHVs and CHEWs to ensure alignment with the recommended age pivot per PEPFAR guidelines, with emphasis on HCD.•Prepare monthly regional MMC demand creation budgets, and quarterly social mobilization work plans and ensure continuous tracking and monthly reporting of all social mobilization activities in the sub county.•Implement strategies for strengthening collaborative partnerships and networks with other stakeholders, surgeons, associate mobilizers and CHVs, to ensure implementation of programs that enhance organizational effectiveness.•Plan, monitor and evaluate the performance of other associate mobilisers against set targets and objectives.•Assessing the training needs and implementing development action plans, aimed at building the capacity of individuals and other multidisciplinary team members.
