  The Lombard Planning Commission is a local appointed government board charged with making recommendations to the Lombard City Council regarding various zoning and plan regulations. This includes zoning map amendments, planned unit developments, conditional and special use permits, and text amendments. The Planning Commission also works with staff to develop and recommend comprehensive plans and other planning reports.

  Healthy West Chicago (HWC) is a collaboration of community leaders in local government, education, healthcare, social services, faith-based congregations, private and non-profit organizations organized to increase nutrition and physical activity in the City of West Chicago. HWC is committed to making permanent changes by enacting policy, systems and environmental changes to make the healthy choice the easy choice. The 2015 HWC Community Action Plan guides the work of the organization.As the Consulting Director Andi made the following impacts:• Expanded a dedicated group of over 50 partner organizations and over 900 engaged community members;• Increased physical activity opportunities, reaching over 600 walkers at the "The Move with the Mayor Challenge" and over 150 walkers who joined the indoor community walks;• Reduced sugary sweetened beverages through the “ReThink Your Drink” Initiative in partnership with 29 institutions;• Grew and prepared healthy foods, through relationships with Common Threads and The Gardenworks Project;• Developed funds and sponsorships, raising over $84,000 in resources back to the West Chicago community;• Prepared the annual "Healthy West Chicago Report Card" that captured program and policy achievements as well as health indicator data that will plot HWC’s progress over time.
