    • Air Force Research Laboratory

      Jan 2000 - Jan 2002
      Project Manager and Research Chemist

Hand-picked as the Project Manager to save a troubled explosive waste disposal facility, including all concerns of the facility's technical development and personnel training and safety.Simultaneously, as a Research Chemist, I conducted energetic material synthesis experiments as member of 3-man energetic materials and additives research team.I initially identified several critical technical risks that would keep the explosive waste disposal facility from meeting our essential business requirements. Following that discovery, I led an explosive material degradation research and discussion panel of Air Force, Navy and commercial experts, and used their input to develop a new project plan and address our technical risks. With the help of my technical staff and advisers, we were able to avoid $500,000 in wasted funding and penalties, and conduct a through re-planning and begin proactive negotiations with our senior leadership and the EPA. • Albuquerque Software

      Nov 2015 - Dec 2019
      President & Principal Software/Firmware Developer

I started Albuquerque Software in late 2015 because I wanted to help solve some of the biggest problems that I've seen in growing companies. I noticed that many businesses get bogged down in just keeping things running, they and their team feel stressed, they become inefficient and unhappy, and they start to lose the spark that makes them great.Albuquerque Software works with businesses to analyze their problems, find out what is getting in their way, and develop software and/or hardware that fixes their largest problems as quickly as possible. We then support and evolve the software to help them become even more productive. The result is that the companies that we work with begin to quickly recover and grow as we create software that helps them remove their inefficiencies and roadblocks. By leveraging emerging technologies and development methods, we build systems and products to grow along with your company.Business owners and managers can decrease wasted time, effort and money, decrease their own workload and stress, and focus on the larger reason for going into business: to make the world a better place and passionately serve their customers. Their teams, likewise, become more efficient, spend less time on mundane, unproductive tasks, and more time doing the meaningful work that they love, which directly benefits your customers.Ultimately, we help put the spark back into your business and team, and helps set you up for long-term success. We are humbled that we've been trusted to work with so many great companies, but we know that our work isn't done. If you have a problem that we might be able to help with, please contact me at kris@abqsoft.com or (505) 720-4939.http://www.abqsoft.com Show less

    • Heitner for Congress

      Feb 2018 - Apr 2018
      Campaign Manager (Volunteer)

I volunteered as Dr. Jesse Heitner's campaign manager because we have serious healthcare and economic problems here in New Mexico. We don't need any more lawyers or politicians in office who don't know how to build and talk about real solutions. Jesse is a progressive Democrat, data scientist and healthcare economist who has solved healthcare problems from Equador to Rwanda to rural China. He's seen first-hand how defunding healthcare creates devastation in both rural and urban areas, and he has common-sense plans to help America's healthcare system get stronger and more efficient. He supports Medicare-for-All, but to make it work, we need to do the work to make it sustainable, and his ideas will work regardless of how the healthcare system evolves.Second, Jesse is a devout Christian, and is fed up with the religious-right claiming that their agenda is based upon the Bible. It isn't, and Jesse is leading the way for morally-centered Christians who believe that orphans, widows and refugees must be protected. He's also wants to help amplify the voice for those that feel disgusted with the moral failings of the Republicans, but don't feel free to speak freely among the Democrats. (I'm a Theravada Buddist myself, and I completely agree with Jesse that the empty morality of many Republican politicians is on flagrant display right now, and they've twisted Christianity so far away from its true essence of from love, compassion, mutual respect and equality.) • Propellerhead

      Jan 2020 - May 2021
Senior Software Developer & IS Security Lead

I am a polyglot software engineer and information security lead on a small system/service reliability and optimization team. We are responsible for rapidly analyzing and improving a large number of PHL-built applications for our clients, in many different programming languages, using varying infrastructure and deployment stacks. Some of our systems include mission-critical applications that keep Auckland Transport (Auckland, New Zealand's public transportation system) running efficiently.About Propellerhead:We started Propellerhead in 2002 to change the way software services were delivered in New Zealand. Fast-forward a few years and we now work with some of our countries largest entities, building interesting and challenging technology, and helping to improve the lives of millions of New Zealanders every day.We are a developer led organisation that likes hard problems that require new thinking and technology responses. We are focussed on 'good outcomes quickly’ for our clients. We are a lean/agile development house and fully embrace these methodologies for our projects. We thrive on uncertainty and change. We hate waste and unnecessary lines of code.We believe in constantly questioning the status quo, finding a better way. We believe developers can be far more productive when given the freedom to lead in the process of crafting solutions. It is less about what they do and more about what they choose not to do when creating a great software solution. Show less
