  I completed an 5 year advanced modern apprenticeship at Tyseley maintenance depot, learning all aspects of rolling stock that London midland serviced (150/1/2, 153/3, 170/1/3/5/6)The first year was block release at Tamworth and Lichfield college where I learnt basic engineering skills.The remaining years were a mix of on the job training including various technical courses on rolling stock components with day release once a week at Tamworth and Lichfield college.After completing all the technical criteria towards the apprenticeship, I advanced on to complete an HNC in mechanical technology at Staffordshire university completing most of the elements in my own time.   Outstations Fleet production leader overseeing multiple locations including Birmingham New Street/Birmingham Snowhill/Leicester/Bletchley. I have built up a multitude of skills since taking on this role and I am currently working towards my a1 assessor qualification. This role covers various areas including : ensuring company policies are adhered to / rostering of staff / generating timesheets / attendance management / annual leave management / welfare issues / working closely with other departments within the business and external customers. Show less Predominantly based at Birmingham New Street station but included covering other key locations across the West Midlands trains network, attending mixed traction in-service faults and failures. This role helped me develop a broad range of skills over the 8 years. Having the underpinning knowledge of specific rail systems from the advanced modern apprenticeship, helped me from going to a mechanical bias background to fault finding on mixed traction rolling stock.The fleets mainly attended are 170/1/3/5/6, 153/3, 323, 150, 172/2/3 During my time as an outstation technician I was awarded with two ambassador awards for the way I handled two major incidents that I attended.
