  Signal Support Systems Specialist

  I first joined the US Army in 2008 as a Combat Engineer. I attended Basic Combat Training/Advanced Individual Training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. From there I received orders to the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 6th Engineer Battalion (Sapper)(Airborne) at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson near Anchorage, Alaska. My next duty station was Fort Riley, Kansas. I was assigned to the 72nd Mobility Augmentation Company, 1st Engineer Battalion, and deployed to Afghanistan to support Operation Enduring Freedom. While deployed, I re-enlisted and chose to reclassify my career. Upon returning from deployment, I left Fort Riley to attend Advanced Individual Training to become a 25U(Signal Support Systems Specialist). Upon successful graduation I was assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 2nd Squadron, 3d Cavalry Regiment at Fort Hood, Texas. Here I have served as a valuable team member of the S6 Shop (Squadron Communications Section), and have contributed greatly to the success of all of the Unit's missions, including my second combat tour to Afghanistan.
