      - Quality Control technician for an asphalt plant location producing approximately 200,000 tons annually.- Job Mix Formula (JMF) creation and verification.- Taking part in both scheduling meetings and pre-pave meetings with the DOT.- Performing quality control testing as required per specification publications to ensure all materials meet DOT specifications. - Monitoring and adjusting Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) and Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA) during production to ensure quality and compliance with the JMF and DOT specification.- Performing visual segregation checks of finished HMA and WMA prior to shipment to ensure uniformity during placement.- Performing temperature checks prior to shipping the materials to the job site and ordering burner temperature changes in order to maintain quality, and meet specification.- Ensuring that aggregate gradation, soundness and all other properties of each stockpile conform to DOT specifications- Certifying compliance of all asphalt manufactured at the production facility.- Performing density checks and notifying the field technician of any density issues, or possible nuclear gauge calibration problems. - Monitoring feeder bin openings, gate settings, belt speeds, and performing hot bin visual checks and gradations. - Managing office including: inventory of all asphalt produced, filing/record keeping of shipments departing from the location, record keeping of quality testing performed, record keeping of changes made to the HMA or WMA during production.- Liaison between Job or Site Superintendents and Plant production personnel.- Notifying the Department of Transportation of materials produced for state funded projects and reporting any quality issues or nonconformity with specifications.- Involved in cost-saving and environmental conscious procedures including; utilizing recycled asphalt materials (RAP), and using Warm Mix Asphalt technologies (Evotherm and Maxam AQUABlack) Show less
