I was responsible for the overall successful execution of the Testing Phase regarding the OMCS, setting up the overall strategy to fully validate all functional and non-functional requirements in the scope of works. I liaised with the client OMCS Controls and Communications Lead to ensure both OMCS and project wide testing schedules are aligned, scope demarcations are agreed and testing and quality documentation is developed and available in an orderly fashion to enable project completion.Likewise, I dealt with the various project stakeholders, including the Asset Trustee, Independent Certifier and O&M personnel, to ensure that: - Testing is set up in accordance with the scope of works, closing all outstanding comments they may provide to test procedures (review of completeness and adequacy of testing at comments close out meetings); - The SVVP is fulfilled across all test phases, providing traceability to all testable requirements in the deed from factory acceptance testing to site integration testing; - Internal testing is completed and test readiness is successfully assessed by both AT and IC, so that the testing activities are allowed to commence (Go/No Go meetings). The main responsibilities I delivered as were: - Providing overall management of the OMCS acceptance testing; - Setting up the various commissioning procedures, ensuring they are followed accordingly by team members and providing awareness of testing quality and safety considerations; - Scheduling of the test phases; - Managing the test documentation and ensure that the activities comply with the process and procedures established within the various management plans; - Ensuring test activities are executed in accordance with test specification; - Ensuring test reports truly represent the events occurred during test execution; - Ensuring defects arising from testing are adequately addressed and closed; - Ensuring that test activities are correctly and adequately staffed. Show less SICE is delivering the Design and Construction of the Operations Management and Control System (OMCS) for WestConnex Stage 1 and Stage 2 projects in Sydney. Both projects are being delivered independently and in parallel.WestConnex Stage 1 and Stage 2 comprise two thirds of the entire WestConnex Transport Network, totalising 18km and 20km of road tunnel section, respectively. The OMCS scope of works include: - Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS) such as vehicle detection, driver advisory signs, CCTV, automatic video-based incident detection (AVIDS), etc. - Plant Monitoring and Control System (PMCS) for all tunnel Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) equipment.Main tasks and responsibilities are: - Ensure a coordinated and consistent design between the two projects. - Ensure deviations from tender design are kept to a minimum. - Develop the engineering design, from concept to Issue for Construction (IFC), coordinating works with the design team in Spain and Australia and engaging with the D&C main contractor personnel. - Liaise with the rest of the project M&E, ITS and civil design consultants to ensure proper coordination and consistency: - Liaise with all project stakeholders, including the design peer reviewer (Independent Certifier - IC) and the end client (Sydney Motorway Corporation - SMC, and Roads and Maritime Services - RMS), during the review process of each design milestone. - Responsible for the requirements management and traceability during the analysis, design and construction phases. - Successful track record of design delivery within the planned programme. - Motivate and give visibility to the design team, coordinating internal relations within the project and coordinating technical decisions within the Project Team. - Identify and propose corrective and improvement actions. - Promote co-operation between teams in Spain and Australia to enable effective utilisation of resources and facilitate the success of the project.
