  As a Product-In-Process Officer/Lab QC officer Trainee, I carried out daily sand analysis of moulding sand (CO2 Sand and Green Sand) using universal sand testing machines, Inspected the moulding process (Certification of mould hardness using a hand-held hardness tester, mould coatings and mould covering processes), conducted spectrometer analysis on molten samples of alloys to determine/ensure correct alloy compositions before casting, conducted Micro-structural analysis on samples of as-cast and heat treated castings to ensure no defective product is passed to finished product warehouse.Key achievement: Assisted the QC manager in successfully upgrading the documentation of Quality Control Department procedures and product tracking, for the 'Egina' project external audits by TOTAL and SAIPEM.   As the site Safety Supervisor for the project - Construction of the NDDC permanent headquarters in Port Harcourt, I organised daily tool box meetings with all staff in attendance, received visitors to site and conducted safety inductions, appointed and trained safety reps for each work unit, took custody and issued appropriate PPEs to all working personnel, organised the activities of contractors’ staff on site, carried out first aid treatments, JHA and risk assessment, accident/incident investigation, heavy duty equipment Pre-mob and equipment statutory inspection document verification, etc. Key achievement: Established and ran an effective HSE dept for the project site, taught all staff/labourers the SPDC 12 lifesaving rules with visual demonstrations, monthly safety meetings with strong site management presence, managed to sell the idea of safety at work to a difficult and unschooled labour force, achieved goal zero. Professionally, I attained HSE Level 3 certification and membership of the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON) within my 3years on the job. Show less

  As a Plant Inspection Engineer in the Technical Services department with a sound HSE background, I was responsible for the safety of all jobs done under my supervision. I carried out scheduled on-stream condition monitoring of Static Equipment such Vessels, Tanks, Heat Exchangers, Reformers, Reactors, Boilers, valves, etc. I also carried out shutdown Inspection of these equipment and recommended repairs and procedures where necessary. I carried out monthly integrity audit of plant assets such as pipings, piping supports and insulations, structural supports of plant Equipment, subsidence updates, etc, and recommended actions where necessary. I conducted positive material identification on all procured materials received at the warehouse to ensure compliance with specifications. I carried out monthly corrosion audit of vessels, prepared BEME for corrosion control projects, and inspected the various stages of corrosion control projects' execution. I also monitored on monthly basis the corrosion susceptibility of cooling water exchangers by means of corrosion coupon analysis. I conducted offsite inspection equipment to be hired for plant use and issued inspection reports. I conducted welders' qualification tests, issued WPS for jobs. I supervised welding jobs and conducted visual test, and non-destructive testing (DPT, MPI, RFI etc). I also deployed predictive maintenance technologies such as SDT270 for equipment condition monitoring.I gained massive experience by working on difficult projects and being part of a team that provided daily solutions to real time challenges in an ageing plant. The highlight of my stay at Notore was during the 2021 Notore TAM project, where alongside my team, I supervised the retubing of the Primary Reformer (378tubes, gas fired), covering over 1200 weld joints with zero rework. We also rebuilt a failed Primary Waste-Heat Boiler pressure shell, and a collapsed Secondary Reformer Dome and other notable projects.   I supervise the activities of 4 junior engineers/technicians, with whom I provide Inspection coverage for two units of 4000MTPD Ammonia/Urea Plant with overlap function at the Olefins unit of the Petrochemical Section. I take responsibility for all Inspection activities for new construction/plant modification projects, Plant Static-Equipment on-stream and shutdown condition monitoring and recommend repairs, perfom Positive Material Identification, supervise NDTs and certify results, witness PRV calibrations, Qualify Welders and welding Procedures, perform remaining life assessment of Plant assets, Failure analysis/RCA, Technical Report writing, etc. I report directly to the Inspection Superintendent.Within the first 3months of my onboarding at Indorama, I supervised from Shop Fabrication stage to Installation and commissioning, of a new Urea Effluent Treatment Plant for the fertilizer plant, the and Installation of 3 new HRSGs..
