      I worked as a trainee clinical psychologist with placements in community psychosis and mood disorder teams, children and adolescent psychiatric units, LD team integrated with social care, specialist placement in LAC, and Kings Hospital Liaison Team for older adults. My thesis focused on spirituality and mindfulness meditation and was supervised by Professors Chris Barker and Nancy Pistrang and Dr Fergal Jones.

      Community Clinical Psychologist and Mental Health Activist

      I have a small private practice supporting a diverse range of issues - particularly in the UK where I am the only Orthodox male clinical psychologist in the country. Holding both a rabbinic and clinical psychology platform has offered new opportunities for community-based activism to improve mental health through research and grass-roots interventions; I am the clinical and research lead on two of these projects. I have also run meditation and reflective groups.

Strategic leadership to guide the direction of the community and further build the membership.

      There were five strands to my work as senior psychologist within MHLT at Lister Hospital: 1) Inpatients acute psychological assessment, formulation and liaison/intervention, 2) Innovative and responsive outpatient clinic for frequent attenders to A&E and people experiencing medically unexplained symptoms, 3) Staff training and support, 4) Creating thinking spaces for MHLT, 5) Co-running frequent attenders network meetings to create multi-agency care plans for service users.

      I support the development of trainee clinical psychologists through teaching on masterclasses and facilitating reflective groups focusing on the social GRACES (Burnham, 2012). I am building links with the department to advance my research into community-based psychology and group change processes.
