  As a Learning Specialist, I am responsible for managing a caseload of students who have IEPs--ensuring accommodations/modifications are in place, consulting with homeroom teachers, attending all meetings that relate to students on my caseload, and facilitating professional development for general education teachers to make sure that they are best serving their students with and without IEPS. I track the progress of my students, and, in many cases, am responsible for providing the academic services written within the IEPs. In this role I have also created and facilitate the academic Response to Intervention program on my campus. Through RTI, I have regular check-ins with teachers to identify students are falling into Tiers 2 and 3 (according to their classroom data), create short and long term goals, and support the teachers in providing interventions to these students.
