  Lab Technician

  As a lab technician I worked directly with the research engineers in NCAT's laboratory. My responsibilities included both field and lab work for multiple research projects. I learned how to perform a wide range of procedures to develop and test asphalt mix designs (e.g. Bulk Specific Gravity, Tensile Strength Ratio, Hamburg-Wheel Tracking, APA Rutting). I became proficient at using and following both ASTM and AASHTO specifications when performing these procedures. My field experience involved working with paving contractors to obtain and test samples of mix in a mobile lab. I was also in charge or organizing and performing preliminary analysis on the lab data I produced. Show less
