  Was co-owner of a boat dealership at Smith Mountain Lake. We sold Malibu Ski Boats, Crownline Boats and had a complete waterski and wakeboard shop. Was the first real complete pro-shop at Smith Mountain Lake. We handled sales and repairs. I was responsible for sales, marketing and all financial aspects of company.Sold the business in 2001 to concentrate on other business.

  I work as senior small business counselor for the Roanoke Regional Small Business Development Center (RRSBDC). The RRSBDC is part of the national network of over 1000 SBDC offices located throughout the US. The SBDC network is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide no-cost business counseling services to new and existing small businesses. We provide counseling in areas such as business startup, business planning, writing a marketing plan, marketing research, financial analysis, development of financial projections and strategic planning. I am also a PMP (Project Management Professional) an IRS Registered Enrolled Agent a Six Sigma Green Belt, a trained Strategic Planning Facilitator and have my EDFP certification (Economic Development Finance Professional) from the National Development Council. During my tenure with the SBDC I have worked with more than a 2000 small business owners, or individuals wanting to start a small business.The RRSBDC serves the City of Roanoke, Roanoke County, Botetourt County, City of Salem, Town of Vinton, Allegany County, Craig County, Franklin County, Smith Mountain Lake (where I have lived since 1985), Montgomery County, Giles County, Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Radford and Floyd.
