Energy saving on that ten percent will have a significant effect on the industry that use compressor for their main task. The conventional method of energy saving is by using throttle so the air flow from the compressor can be regulated. Nevertheless these method is not very efficient compared with energy saving by using VSD. The purpose of this final project is to study how much energy that can be saved with using VSD. The method which used to know how much energy that can be saved is by comparing it directly between a compressor that use VSD to drive the motor and a compressor that use nothing to drive the motor.
