      Traditions Chair

As Traditions Chair, I was in charge of planning and implementing 2 campus traditions at the University of Nebraska-Omaha: Homecoming and March Mavness. Each week-long event focused on school spirit and brought lectures, entertainment, and competition to the student body. The goal was to involve faculty, staff, and alumni in each event (particularly Homecoming). I collaborated with Student Government, Greek organizations, and other campus groups to form teams and host competitions and events throughout the weeks.A big part of the Traditions Chair position was developing a theme to run throughout Homecoming Week. I had the opportunity to chair "Under the Big Top" and "Let the Games Begin" in 2011 and 2012.I had the unique opportunity to work with many campus administrators, including the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and the Associate Vice Chancellor for Admissions. We specifically collaborated on traditions such as the parade and sporting events. Show less
