    • Office of the attorney general for the district of columbia

      May 2015 - Jul 2015
      Legal extern

Demonstrated my ability to perform expansive and complex research by conducting a 50 state research survey on compensating restrictive covenants in eminent domain proceedings. The Office faced the challenge of unsuccessful motions to dismiss while petitioners did not match the owner of record for the property in question. This took valuable government resources away from more legitimate cases and required unnecessary and excessive research. I helped develop a new litigation strategy using a precipe to expedite the dismissal of cases against the District of Columbia. Drafted a title opinion letter, memoranda, motions, discovery requests, responses, and stipulations, and reviewed rejected stipulations in tax assessment litigation. Performed site inspections. Prepared materials for and summaries of mediations. Show less
