      Bachelor's degree Mechanical Engineering

I learned the fundamentals of engineering from the basics of how things work, through courses teaching engineering analysis, into higher-level classes that involved the summary of my education and a complete design process. My education culminated in a senior project that included selecting a company-sponsored project, then carrying it out from needs identification, idea generation, design generation and selection, ordering and custom-making parts, building the selected design, testing, and reporting the findings of the project. The project was completed in December of 2016, shortly before graduation. I finished my time in college with a GPA of 3.1. Show less

    • Janicki Industries

      Jun 2015 - Sept 2015
      Mechanical Engineering Intern

Throughout my internship, I conducted market analysis and technical research for a potential new composite product. I assisted a program manager with compiling a bill of materials for a large wind energy project, including the identification of all materials, processes, and labor required as well as estimating their costs. I took the opportunity to learn about a number of production methods for composite materials like carbon- and glass-fiber based resin composites (more commonly known as carbon fiber and fiberglass). I observed and participated in the production of composite parts with factory technicians to build my knowledge of professional-grade manufacturing techniques. Towards the end of my internship, I designed and built a small carbon fiber-composite item in order to gain exposure to the process, advantages, and limitations of composite engineering. I learned about the entire process of making large tooling for composite parts, including modeling, prototyping, milling, finishing, and packaging. My internship with Janicki gave me valuable exposure to the daily workings and interactions of a successful engineering company. Show less

    • Kronos Golf

      Jun 2016 - Aug 2016
      Engineering Intern

I worked daily with the CEO and founder of Kronos Golf, providing engineering analysis and advice for golf putter design. I communicated between independent contractors to carry out several projects during my time at Kronos. I learned about and participated in CNC and manual machining processes for a variety of golf-related projects. The best experience with Kronos involved gaining insight into the workings of a small business, with all of the trials, setbacks, and triumphs associated therein.

    • FSX Equipment

      Mar 2018 - Jan 2022
      Mechanical Engineer

The majority of my work at FSX equipment focused on design engineering of mechanical products. I also had the opportunity to lead three large-scale equipment installations.Working with one other engineer, I took one FSX machine from a single sketch all the way to regular production and continuing improvement. As the lead design engineer, I was responsible for generating ideas to ensure a quality product. I used SolidWorks to design a multitude of sheet metal and machined parts. I am detail-oriented and experienced with engineering drafting, and prepared most of the drawings that we sent to our fabrication contractors. After building several prototypes to prove the effectiveness of new technology that we were implementing, I led the production design phase. I used lessons learned from the prototypes to develop a machine better suited for production and sales, with reduced complexity and increased durability. The machine subsequently entered production and generated significant sales and profits for FSX. I was involved with continuing design improvements in a never-ending quest to optimize the machine. In addition to my experience as a design engineer, I was the project manager for installations of bespoke FSX systems for large customers. These were custom systems, requiring constant communications with the customer to ensure strong results. As project manager I took the lead on all phases of the project. My responsibilities included: helping sales to prepare the system quote for the customer by generating a detailed cost estimate; designing floor plans and work flows; providing system requirements; developing a project schedule; organizing labor; coordinating logistical issues with the customer; and finally traveling to the customer and assisting with the install. Each of these projects resulted in a major new profit source for our customers. Two of these systems were installed in the USA and another in Europe. Show less

    • Aperture LLC

      Jan 2022 - now
      Forensic Investigator/Accident Reconstructionist

I am an Accident Reconstructionist for Aperture LLC. My responsibilities consist of field and office work. In the field I inspect vehicles involved in collisions and the scenes of said collisions. I have also assisted with non-vehicular matters involving construction and industrial accidents and premises safety. Field work consists of photography, video, note taking, operation of aerial drones, laser scanning, surveying, and downloading vehicle "black box" information.Office work includes data processing, 2D top-down diagramming of accident scenes and involved vehicles and other parties, calculations and analysis, literature research, and crash simulations. This work is summarized into reports, opinions, and exhibits produced to clients in order to support pre-suit investigation, pre-trial litigation and mediation, and trial presentations and testimony. The work is challenging, yet rewarding. Every day brings unique circumstances. Our work uses science to bring the facts to light and helps our clients to understand what really happened. My hope is that we can in some way contribute to a safer future with fewer injuries and fatalities, on our roadways, in our workplaces, and in our daily lives. Show less
