  Ldc young voice

  LDC Young Voices are the Youth Delegates of the 5th UN Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5) who amplify the voices of young people from LDCs. They share their stories, ideas and perspectives through scenes from their daily experiences, reports about issues impacting their wider communities, and feed young people’s voices into the preparatory process for LDCs. They are also the youth delegates in the LDC5 Youth Forum where they will be involved in discussions, media and social media activities acting as LDC5 influencers and being engaged in media interviews, social media activities, bilateral and multilateral meetings as well as discussions; part of both the LDC5 Youth Forum and the LDC5 Conference (March 2023). The conference served as a vital platform to amplify the voices of 1.1 billion people living in the 46 least developed countries (LDCs).▪ Spoke at “Putting Youth at the forefront: Paving the way for an enabling environment for youth tothrive and prosper” youth event co-hosted by Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), the UnitedNations Development Programme (UNDP) and International Telecommunication Union (ITU).▪ Engaged in high-level dialogues with decision-makers, global leaders, and stakeholders to address key challenges affecting youth in LDCs.▪ Contributed to discussions on the Doha Programme of Action for LDCs and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, advocating for youth empowerment and inclusive policies.▪ Participated in the LDC5 Youth Forum (March 4, 2023), where young leaders from around the world proposed innovative solutions and actionable commitments.▪ Represented youth perspectives in dedicated events that fostered socioeconomic transformation, sustainable development, and digital inclusion in LDCs.   The United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs' #Youth4Disarmament initiative announced 25 #Leaders4Tomorrow, who explored the role of young people in advancing Disarmament, Non-proliferation, and arms control (D.N.A.) objectives during five interactive and engaging workshops conducted with UNODA staff, youth speakers and other experts.Following the workshop programme, the #Leaders4Tomorrow will develop and present their innovative and action-oriented ideas to advance our collective peace and security at a First Committee Side-Event in October 2022 from the United Nations Headquarters in New York.   Leaders to the future #l2f

  The Leaders to the Future (#L2F) Series, organized by the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs’ #Youth4Disarmament Initiative and supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, engaged young leaders in monthly workshops on Disarmament, Non-Proliferation, and Arms Control (D.N.A.). Participants explored key topics such as the UN Secretary-General’s New Agenda for Peace, gender parity, outer space security, diversity in multilateralism, and emerging technologies.The program featured expert briefings, interactive discussions, mentorship, and networking opportunities through Career Connections and speaking engagements via the AIM (Advocates in Motion) initiative. Selected participants attended study visits to the UN Offices in Vienna and New York.Through policy analysis, advocacy, and public engagement, the #L2F Series equipped youth with the skills, knowledge, and networks to drive change in global disarmament efforts and international security.   WYDE Civic Engagement (West Africa and Sahel) is an initiative under the Kofi Annan Foundation that aims to strengthen youth participation in governance, accountability, and democracy across Sub-Saharan Africa. The program focuses on empowering young leaders with the skills and resources needed to enhance financial and political accountability, democratic leadership, advocacy, and project management.▪ Selected as one of 20 young leaders from 1,700 Candidates in Sub-Saharan Africa for the WYDE Civic Engagement – Accountability Hubs (2024-2025) program.▪ Participated in a one-week immersion in Tanzania, engaging in hands-on learning, leadership development, and peer collaboration on governance and accountability.▪ Engaged in a comprehensive training and mentoring program on governance, accountability, and democratic leadership covering:▪ Ethical leadership “The Kofi Annan Way”▪ Financial oversight and anti-corruption▪ Public debt management & gender-responsive budgeting▪ Elections, political rights, and civic engagement▪ Effective project management, advocacy, and communications▪ Collaborating with international partners▪ Developing and implementing pilot actions to enhance accountability and youth empowerment.▪ Networking with governance experts, policymakers, and peers to drive positive change in my community.
