  It is a small and honest journey of acknowledging our emotions which started in 2021. We, young adults from different communities, are learning to navigate our emotions like love, anger, hope, jealousy andmany more with self-reflection as we learn to deal with the chaotic, competitive, and comparative world. Moreover, as we learn together, we deep dive with honesty which is simple and solid. The attempt of every diarist to embrace their vulnerability while sharing their stories helps us co-hold the safe and brave space for everyone in the sessions."Me to Diary" is a 3-month journey wherein we explore our emotions with creative expressions. In this process of “Sundays for Self-Reflection,” each session is an open dialogue space for our diarists to discuss and be experts on their own emotions, which enables them to experience the depth of the emotions that they feel and understand that they live with so many emotions which are multi-colored as they intersect and interact with each other. And these dark, light, black, white, and grayness make us more human and humble beings.A small initiative started by four people during the pandemic lockdown to create a space for young adults to talk about their emotions. But as we knew, because of our living conditions, a lot of us couldn’t share or voice our personal concerns, so journaling our thoughts was a way we saw for ourselves.   In my capacity as a Youth Expert and Research Mentor at "City Caravan," a collaborative research project organized jointly by Youth for Unity and Voluntary Action, Field of View, the National Institute of Urban Affairs, the University of Edinburgh, and the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, my role entailed the coordination and provision of guidance throughout the entire process. This encompassed activities ranging from the selection of researchers to the orchestration of a 10-day residential training camp. Furthermore, I undertook direct mentorship of three researchers, specializing in the theme of "Youth, City, and Livelihood." Show less

  My role involved conducting various sessions under the theme "Redefining Masculinity" with the adolescent boys in lower-income Mumbai schools. I further facilitated group formation and encouraged them to create and execute small-scale projects related to the said theme, applying the learnings gained during the sessions in their schools or communities.

  As a Soft Skills Facilitator, I was responsible for conducting sessions on soft skills development for young individuals from marginalized, underprivileged, and economically disadvantaged communities. My role also involved organizing quarterly job fairs to empower them in achieving sustainable livelihoods.

  The project

  Started in 2022, with Jesika Bamne, our aim is to foster the culture of experimentation amongst young people, specifically targeting NSS volunteers from different colleges in Navi Mumbai and Mumbai, we successfully collaborated with Terna Engineering College for our inaugural cohort in 2023 as well as the 2nd cohort in 2024. It is a work in progress, we are still learning, brainstorming, revisiting the idea and revising based on our learnings from past 3 years.

  In this role, I was responsible for the holistic advancement of YUVA's Youth Collective, Anubhav Shiksha Kendra in Maharashtra. This involved employing a multifaceted strategy to drive community and youth development initiatives. Central to my responsibilities was the rigorous monitoring and evaluation of our programs to ensure their effectiveness. Additionally, I was tasked with establishing sustainable administrative frameworks to ensure long-term success.Expanding our reach and influence was a key focus area of my role. To accomplish this, I led the development of advocacy mechanisms dedicated to advancing our objectives. Collaboration was fundamental to our approach, and I worked closely with the team to foster seamless coordination and synergy across all activities.Moreover, I actively engaged in fundraising activities and resource mobilization efforts to secure the necessary financial resources for the continual growth and impactful initiatives of the youth collective. In addition to these core responsibilities, I was deeply involved in community mapping, program design, budget management, planning, project coordination, and comprehensive data collection efforts.
