      Managed a staff of 13 at a medium sized Travel Agency with a mix of international, corporate, leisure and group travel. I was responsible for hiring, training and all personnel issues for travel agents and staff. Managed a corporate operating budget in excess of $500K. I was also the Agency representative to local Community organizations. While at Travel Designers, our sales volume doubled to become the largest travel agency in the Fox Valley area. I expanded the agency's international air volume from near zero to 40% of air sales volume and handled complex travel arrangements for top international custers to remote destinations. Activities also included off-site meeting planning with group air contracts. Negotiated a corporate air contract that doubled the company discount leading to a savings of $1M per year. In addition, worked with company directors and managers to achieve a savings of $413K in air expense for travel not covered in the Travel Policy. I started out as a Travel Manager, creating PCI's first travel policy and corporate credit card program and negotiating airline,hotel and car rental contracts. In 2001, I took on the role of Facilities Manager in addition to Travel. This gave me the opportunity to manage building infrastructure, our lease and implement a new Telecom and Security systems In addition to my day to day duties, I assisted the cell phone testing department by managing test phone inventory, trouble shooting technical issues and as a liaison to wireless carriers. Accomplishments include reducing the air cost per mile 25% and lowering the average ticket price by 22% in one year. Show less

I manage the relationship with the Travel Management Company as well as Industry representatives from airlines, car rental and hotel suppliers. I work with McDonald's Safety and Security Dept to promote and educate travelers about the "McTraveler Safety" duty-of-care program. I also represent McDonald's as a member of Chicago Business Travel Association and the Global Business Travel Association.
