Guided through two strategic planning processes, including first after departure of founder. Repeatedly convened members and nonmembers to assist in design and implementation of new programs and to bring new and more diverse constituencies into the organization. Managed wholesale organizational transformation including: redefinition of membership, granting new voting rights to half of membership; merger of a 501(c)(6) trade association and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization; and restructuring of Board of Directors and committees. Occupancy for retreats is 95% of capacity, operating over 275 nights per year. The class program brings over 35,000 visits per year.Strategic re-visioning of mission & programs. Guided adoption of first organizational mission statement (in 10-year-old organization). Led transition from programming derived from individual teacher preferences to organizational curriculum with structure and progressive path of study and practice. Led quiet phase of capital campaign, raising $8 million. Grew annual organizational budget from $2.8 million to over $5 million. Overhauled governance structures to align existing power structures with governance structure and match authority with responsibility. Collaborated with internal and external partners to launch plans for national network of Insight Meditation organizations-transferring meditation teaching technology and best practices outward to other organizations.Integrated an existing "us vs. them" diversity program into the organization, creating a vital committee and substantially growing involvement of people of color in the organization and community. Overhauled staff structure, computer systems, reporting relationships, personnel and accounting systems. Developed "dashboard" reports for Board to monitor progress against goals.Installed enterprise solution software- for the first time leveraging guest attendance patterns for use in fundraising. Established new fundraising infrastructure, moving from $300k to $1 million annual fund. Knit Buddhist culture and real-world management challenges. Improved diversity of community and leadership.
