  After completing my Bachelor of Arts degree, I was hired as a full time employee of the University of Tennessee to manage the Testing Center within the Office of Disability Services. In this role, I was responsible for proctoring and overseeing testing accommodations for students with disabilities.

  As the Social Marketing Manager, I was responsible for coordinating and implementing all marketing and communications for a federally funded initiative known as System of Care Across Tennessee (SOCAT). In a collaborative effort with the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, community partners, youth, and families, I worked to develop, implement, and consistently update a social marketing plan to educate audiences across the state about the initiative's approach to care coordination and the services offered to children and youth with Severe Emotional Disturbance (SED)/Severe Mental Illness (SMI). Show less I was moved into the role of Intake Coordinator to raise awareness of the K-Town Youth Empowerment Network project within the Knox County community, increase the number of clients served and streamline policies and procedures. Within the first year, I tripled the number of clients served by the program and restructured the intake and discharge process. Due to outreach efforts, I secured a service contract and designed curriculum with Knox County’s only homeless shelter to target the rehabilitation of transition-age youth who suffer from Severe Emotional Disturbances (SEDs). As a member of the local management team, I was responsible for budget oversight, sustainability efforts and community engagement efforts. Show less During my time in the role of Office Manager/Social Marketing Coordinator, I was responsible for the marketing of a $9 million, federally-funded demonstration project known as the K-Town Youth Empowerment Network (K-Town) that targeted meeting the behavioral health needs of transition-age youth. I spent much time networking with other child-serving agencies (e.g., Juvenile Justice, Child Protective Services, Behavioral Health Organizations) to raise awareness of the launch of an innovative service model. developed a 6 year strategic plan for the social marketing and community training efforts for the project, which included the coordination of community event, social media management and networking within the community.
