      Created CMHC’s strategy to address climate change mitigation and adaptation in the Canadian housing system. CMHC’s approach is mission-based, focussing on: creating an industry-wide housing and climate change information and data system; retrofitting multi-unit housing for climate compatibility; creating better communities; and, transforming the housing finance system to respond to physical and transition risks. Led CMHC's risk management function, including enterprise risk management (risk appetite, risk culture, capital management), risk governance (three lines-of-defence, extensive engagement with board of directors, relationship with regulators), comprehensive risk oversight, compliance, privacy, risk modelling, advanced analytics, and model validation. P&L responsibility for homeowner and multi-unit mortgage insurance business, with annual revenues of $2.1 billion and insurance-in-force of $550 billion, representing 45% of the mortgages in Canada. Led a team of 600 professionals across Canada in underwriting, default management, claims payment, product and policy development, risk management, analytics, client relationship management and technical services. Led housing finance and assisted housing policy functions, providing advice to government, including cabinet and Treasury Board approvals, ministerial briefing, coordination across other government departments and agencies. Led CMHC's housing economics, market analysis, research, corporate planning and reporting functions. Led CMHC's research and policy function relating to full range of housing issues (housing assistance, housing finance, technology, sustainable housing, and Indigenous housing). Responsible for mortgage insurance product development, policy and process innovation, competitive strategy, business technology and relationships with industry partners.
