  My objective as Shop Foreman was to maintain a fast, efficient, and effective workshop. I conferred with Service Advisors and customers on vehicle problems, and dispatched the work orders to technicians to ensure fast turnaround times. I was responsible for maintaining an efficient work environment by training new hires and ensuring the local shop remains up to speed on the latest information, techniques, and procedures. I scheduled staff training in the maintenance and repair of all related vehicles and equipment. This included reading and disseminating relevant information from new or updated service publications (manuals, tech notes, bulletins, etc). I was the local diagnostic expert. If a difficult problem arose, it was my job to work alongside the technician to diagnose the vehicle locally. If the problem could be identified and resolved, it was my responsibility to ensure all relevant information and present status has been gathered and consolidated prior to escalating outside the shop for help.   Daily management of the personnel, vehicles, customers, and the overall flow of the center. I craft the schedule for all at the service center, maintain the proper safety equipment required at the center, and keeps the team’s morale up and positive! My main goal is to assist the team to provide an enjoyable experience for each customer. I manage the flow of Service through the center and maintains consistent communication with each customer on their vehicle’s status. Once the clients vehicle has been returned from service, I follow up to ensure that all of the customer’s concerns have been addressed. If there is a need for a team member to escalate a customer concern, I am the first point of escalation. I manages the center’s loaner vehicles and maintains the center’s parts inventory (i.e. shortages, back orders, fulfill stock, critical parts).
