  Masters of Planning, (MPlan) Planning

  My Masters in Planning degree, which I completed at the University of Otago, taught me about the values of the RMA and how to apply my own ideals to my professional career. I finished my Masters by writing a thesis focussed on large-scale infrastructure development. Specifically, my thesis was focussed on the Wellington Smart Motorway, Transmission Gully and the Kapiti Expressway.

  Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Politics

  A passion of local, national and international politics has driven me to gain this qualification. From this qualification I have gained a thorough understanding of New Zealand Politics and an appreciation for the Treaty of Waitangi.

  Bachelor of Science (BSc) Geography

  My BSc of Geography has given me a passion for environmental management, and a true understanding of the New Zealand environment in which we live and interact. Furthermore planning papers taken have increased my understanding of how we must work with and take into account the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi. Whilst at Otago University I also gained the opportunity to be a research assistant down on Stewart Island under the supervision of Dr Mike Hilton.
