      Delivery Coordinator/ Gateman

As the Gateman/Delivery Co-Ordinator my Daily Tasks consisted of:- I would arrive on site at 6.20am every morning to open up the site gates & the compounds before contractors arrived on site & would then lock everything up anytime between 5.30-6.30pm depending on what time the last contractor left the site.- It was my job to input every operative on the job onto the system & issue them with a fob to be able access site through the turnstiles at the gatehouse. I would collect the paperwork from the operatives that were on induction, input there information on the system & provide them with their fob.- I had a booking in system on site, you would need to e-mail me 24 hours before you wanted a delivery on site & I would input it into the system. The length of delivery time I would have to book up depended on the size of the vehicle the material come on, aswell as the amount of material ordered.- Due to the amount of deliveries I had booked in on a daily basis it was a very fast paced job. On a vehicles arrival to site I would go to the vehicle see who the delivery was for, if it was early it would more than likely have to wait until its slot & if a delivery was to arrive late it would have to wait until I could fit it in due to the volume of deliveries.- I would only allow deliveries in providing the company was there to organise where there material was to go as storage space was minimal in certain areas.- Every evening I would input all information from the deliveries into a spread sheet & e-mail across to the Wilmott Dixon team. • Alandale Logistics Limited

      Dec 2012 - Apr 2016

As the Logistics Manager I dealt with all aspects of the site: - I had 16x operatives reporting directly to me on a daily basis, they would be constantly around site with there checklists of how many bins went to each retail fit out contractor. Taking them away when full & returning back with empties to carry on removing waste. - Would provide my operatives with a daily checklist, which they would mark down how many bins & to what areas they were taken daily. I would then process all of this information into a spreadsheet & send over to the client on a weekly basis showing what had been done each week. - Ordering skip exchanges for various different areas on the project. - Compactors around site to empty the waste bins 2x a day. - Removal & exchange of Hazardous waste bins when needed. - Logging all information of skips, compactors & bins into a spreadsheet every month & hand over to the client. Show less As I showed a good work ethic & good punctuality whilst labouring through Alandale, they offered me the chance to be one of their site supervisors. The time I spent Supervising on such a fast paced project has helped me alot. I am now very good at working under pressure due the amount of work that me & my 10x man Op team had to do due to the nature of the job. During this time on the job we were also the water management team which was a very hard & stressful job considering there was no roof on the building & we had to do everything we could to prevent water leaking through the floors & getting down to the platform level of new street station. The high pressure & hard effort we put in was a good experience & I've learned well from it. My daily tasks consisted of: - Attending site meetings of a morning, night & the last planner which was once a week to plan for the week ahead. - Working closely with the administrator on Labour resource. - Filling out Allocation sheets, logging what we did on a daily basis. - Liaising with Management daily on our scope of works required for the day. - Checking water pumps & wet vacuums daily to make sure they worked efficiently. - Check store areas & check lists to see what equipment was signed out & see if everything was accounted for. - I would arrange a meeting every tuesday at 5.30 to give the lads a weekly tool box talk & any bulletins that were e-mailed to me on that week. - I would brief the lads every morning on the task briefings before they went to work. - Every new Operative that we had start with us I would give them a brief Alandale induction & go through the task briefings & what is expected of them on a daily basis. - Organise weekend works for the Operatives & split the supervision for the weekend between me & another supervisor, so that we both had a day each. - I would write a handover every night for night shift for the scope of works that they would need to do that night. Show less As a Labourer my Daily Tasks consisted of:- Sign in & sign up to the relevant task briefing once I was briefed by my Supervisor.- I would remove all bins from the area of new street that I worked on ready for 7.30am to be emptied by the compactor.- I would distribute the empty bins around my area once emptied ready for contractors to use.- I would go to Alandale storage area & test the water management kit once a week unless it was raining otherwise I would do my checks when using the equipment on site.- Sweep & tidy walkways.- Spray any trip hazards or un-even floor levels in walkways yellow & black so the risk was noticeable.- Remove waste materials from site & put them in the skip.- Report to my supervisor every time we had completed a job that he had asked us to do.- Put up signage around site, such as walkway directions, site exit, fire exit, fire assembly points & any other relevant signage that Mace would request Alandale to put up. I supervise the ongoing works to the lower peover bridge.. The work taking place is a concrete repair & fitting carbon fibre plates to strengthen the structure to the underside of the bridge. - I would report to the yard in Sandbach for 6.45am Monday-Friday & collect a point of works for the day.- Record daily works down on an allocation sheet & take to the office every evening at the end of the shift. - Brief the lads every morning from the point of works, once they had been briefed I would get them to sign up to it & they could then begin work.Process in which the repair is done: - Concrete is to be broken out until rebar is revealed. - Rebar cleaned & then primed ready for concrete to be sprayed back. - Once concrete is sprayed.. It has a 7 day curing period before carbon fibre plates get fitted. - Carbon fibre plates are cut to size and fixed to the bridge using a mapei adhesive. Show less
