  Steve Ervin heads the HUD production group as well as the Seniors Housing and Healthcare Financing Group at Berkadia. He is responsible for oversight of all HUD production of multifamily lending as well as for growing Berkadia’s Seniors Housing and Healthcare Financing platform through its Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, Investment Sales and balance sheet platforms. Hired by Berkadia in 2011 to restart a once successful Seniors Housing and Healthcare Finance program, Steve built a team that would grow lending volume from $50M to over $1B in 3 years. Under Steve’s direction, the Berkadia HUD production team continually remains at the top of HUD production volume nationwide and continues to be a thought and production leader in the HUD finance world.Prior to joining Berkadia, Mr. Ervin ran the HUD group for Walker & Dunlop after its purchase of Column Guaranteed where he started Column’s HUD shop. He successfully built that group from the ground up to financing over $1B in HUD loans. He is an active participant in many HUD associations. He has held leadership positions for the HUD Eastern Lenders Association, MBA’s Multifamily Steering Committee, and the Committee on Healthcare Finance. Prior to joining Column, he held positions as Deputy Chief Underwriter for Love Funding where he was responsible for oversight of all underwriting operations. Steve's career has encompassed over 30 years of HUD finance experience in various roles as a contractor to HUD, a consultant, an underwriter, and a banker. Show less
