  While at Somerset Sight I was responsible for managing all fundraising, media opportunities and development prospects. Preparing fundraising bids was a large part of my job however I also communicate with individual donors and support third party fundraisers. I managed legacy income and liaise with solicitors and executors. I help to organise fundraising events for example our country house car boot sale. I managed the website and wrote press releases, delivered talks and conducted radio interviews to publicise both our fundraising and service delivery. I also produced the organisation’s magazine published three times a year in five different formats. Show less

  My role has various elements. 1. To raise budgeted core, project and capital funding to support Amber's Devon centre Ashley Court. We raise money in a variety of ways at Amber and I manage applications to trusts and foundations, events, community fundraising and corporate partnerships. 2. Raise awareness of Amber's work with disadvantaged young people in Devon and beyond though preparing press releases conducting radio interviews and attending networking events. 3. Identify and follow up opportunities in the community to support our residents improve their skills and widen their aspirations. Show less
