This was in accordance to ascertain if "Date Rape" via spiked drinks has occurred. (Very big news in the media at the time) Show less

I've had this title twice in my career. Pre-2001 and after 2008. In the interim the process of "Single Status" in public life occurred. I've also bean a Science teacher during this interim. While under this title I have had the responsibility of routine Instrumental, chemical and ELISA analysis of food and toxicological samples. Post 2008 I have done the same, with major restructuring, plus the routine maintenance of instruments. Development of new methodologies for toxicological samples, from extraction to instrument finish, (Non supported).Use of instruments including HPLC (DAD), GC (ECD, FID, TSD),IR, UV, ICP, GCMS and GCMSMS. The latter instrumentation, for I'm in charge of due to my experience. I'm due to take charge of a new LCMSMS, because of my MS and MSMS experience. I write reports for our cliental when needed (Mainly toxicological). I hold the HM drug licence for the site. I am deputy to the chemistry manager, now. I report to our clients, do method development and manage highly qualified analysts. I may still have the same title of Scientific Officer for a while. Show less Involved in the classical chemical, enzymatic and instrumental analysis of food and toxicological samples. I currently develop methods for the analysis of new drugs and "legal highs". Experienced in IR, UV, ICP, HPLC, GC and GCMS; and LC-MS which latterly I have set up to do screening and transfer methods better met by this technology for our organisation with help from many organisations. Mass spectrometry is my specialist interest and for which I have responsibility. I have been taught, how to teach and have been able to cascade my chemical and instrumental knowledge to new employees in a managerial capacity using those skills.I am a deputy reporting officer to the Chemistry Manager in my organisation at the moment. I deputy manage two individuals of high qualification who are bench analysts. I too, do analytical work regularly both for method development, teaching and for reactive reasons (We are a small laboratory). Show less
