Investigated the role of chemokine receptor CXCR4-mediated activation of extracellular signal regulated kinase and determined the role that cortactin plays in breast cancer cell migration and invasion. Determined by 1) analysis of dose dependent activation of extracellular signal regulated kinase 2) analysis of breast cancer cell migration following CXCL12 stimulation 3) analysis of breast cancer cell invasion following CXCL12 stimulation. Outcome of these studies will assist in the understanding the role of CXCR4 -mediated activation of extracellular signal regulated kinase in breast cancer cells. Our studies provided significant insight into the underlying mechanisms of breast cancer cell migration and invasion and the role that cortactin plays. Show less
