  I was the State Capitol Bureau chief for Central Virginia's NBC affiliate. As a multimedia journalist, I covered state government, politics and national news relevant to Virginia. I was the only television reporter in Virginia permanently assigned to the statehouse. I shot, wrote and edited multiple stories a day for all NBC29 platforms. I was an enthusiastic believer in the power of social media to demonstrate thought leadership, to promote stories and to engage viewers.
