  I had the opportunity to work with an amazing Health & Safety team at the Fording River site of Teck Resources Limited. Here, I was able to practically apply knowledge and skills obtained through academic work and activities. I contributed in promoting health and safety onsite by performing periodic personal and area sampling (Dust/Coal/Silica, Hexavalent Chromium, Noise) as part of the site’s exposure reduction plan. I also tested employees to ensure they had a proper fit for respirator to protect them from exposures. The outdoor - indoor work balance was a perfect fit for me. I found it engaging and informative creating and disseminating information on protection against emerging hazards to promote health & safety as well as ensure compliance to legislations. Show less
