  Project engineer

  As a project engineer for Swaggart Brothers Inc. I engage in many duties to aid in the construction process. These duties vary from office work to being a full time on site field engineer. At the office I am responsible for performing detailed quantity take off's ranging from flat work and anchor bolts packages to mechanical scopes of work for process pipe and welded fittings. Another major responsibility I am tasked with at the office is the location and selection of subcontractors for our wide variety of projects. When I am in the field this range of duties grows exponentially as it becomes my job to ensure that our projects continue on our schedule while meeting the demands of our clients and field personnel. I manage the the flow of information which includes issuing and tracking all RFI packages, issuing and tracking submittals, and keeping detailed records of the work performed on a daily basis. It also becomes my duty to assist in keeping the project managers up to date on the progress of our projects, which entails updating the master schedule, performing percent complete reports to aid in billing, tracking change order work, and assisting in budgetary updates.While in the field it becomes pertinent to work hand in hand with the client to ensure that our projects are delivered to their exacting specifications. Client relations are key to our growing success and because of this quality control/quality assurance is a large part of my job in the field. This includes tracking all of the work in place through red line drawings, drawing and mapping all of our welding to DOT specifications, and documenting all material testing from concrete, proctors, and density reports, to the X-Ray of all our welds.
