      Grant writer and development director

I served as a fundraiser, grant writer, and project manager for the nonprofit SevaChild International from 2015 to 2021. I just rejoined the organization as a board member (September 2023). During my time as Development Director, our fundraising efforts led to hundreds of Indian families receiving vital food rations during the pandemic years from 2020 to 2021. Before the pandemic, our campaigns focused on providing vitamin A to malnourished children in India under the age of five and an iron supplement campaign to expectant mothers throughout India. My focus was on donor-centric fundraising strategies that boosted SevaChild's revenue by 201 percent from 2015 to early 2021. I helped add over 30 new monthly donors from the start of 2021 to the time I left the organization in July of that year. As a new board member, I look forward to providing fundraising expertise and growing our network of monthly donors, or "hope builders," and increasing our cause-marketing partnerships who want to help make our world more just, harmonious, and sustainable. I am a guest teacher at the elementary level for the five North County Coastal Substitute Consortium school districts. I implement the classroom teacher's lesson plans to the best of my ability, cultivate positive relationships with the students and staff, and serve in other capacities as requested by the school administrators. I plan to find a full-time classroom position at the elementary level either this year or for the 2023-'24 school year. As a credentialed (multiple subject and single subject in social studies) teacher, I focus on student-centered and project-based learning which makes learning real and tangible for students. I build engaging and positive relationships with my students who feel safe to take risks with their learning and growth in my classroom. I also build positive relationships with parents, my teaching colleagues, and other school staff as I know that children surrounded by caring adults can make all the difference to often struggling and insecure children.
