Some of the specific areas I worked in were early year careerist retention, a reworking of the referral process to occupational medicine, and creating nursing position descriptions.

  Manage day-to-day operations, strategic planning, and financial performance for 3 departments at SSM Health Dean Medical Group. Support the departments of Hand & Upper Extremity, Podiatry, and Sports Medicine. Balance the needs of the patients, staff, providers, and organization. Working with 20 clinical staff and 15 providers, our departments had greater than $11m of NPSR in 2022. Partner with Perioperative leadership to optimize our surgeons’ OR time while maintaining appropriate clinic access. In addition to day-to-day operations and strategic planning, also have budgeting responsibilities. Show less My Administrative Fellowship had two distinct phases: the pre-Covid phase and the pandemic response phase. In the first 8 months of my fellowship, I worked on projects across care delivery and our (at the time) wholly owned health plan including a strategic plan for neurology, reconciling financials between our insurance arm and care delivery arm, and supporting the development of a high-risk pre operative clinic for the medical group. Starting in March 2020, I helped with various pandemic-induced projects including vehicle check-in for our clinic locations and return-to-care plans for our varying degree of clinic-based services. I supported the incident command team in developing plans for which services were safe to return to in-person care and the timing of services that needed to continue being focused on virtual care. In addition to project experience, I spent a significant amount of time with our regional senior leaders to better understand what makes effective leaders really effective and learn more about what it takes to lead an integrated delivery network.
