Success was proven by gaining backing from the external department to support a safety related issue and conduct trial of measurements. These were implemented across the world and was nominated for Rolls-Royce Recognising Success Award for supporting this.Trained, introduced and supervised apprentices, graduates and work experience students into the business. Work ranged from leading them on specific projects to understanding how to carry out routine tasks. All met their objectives and apprentices produced work which was used as part of their competencies to complete their programme.Technician and Engine LeadMay 2009 – Aug 2012Offloaded and maintained technician level work to subcontractors in India by providing ‘How To’ guides and breaking it down to a non-complex level, freeing up time to take on more challenging responsibilities. This met the department’s objective of taking advantage of the outsourcing capability and resulted in using the year’s target budget in eight months.Organised logistics and lead a team of sampling engineers into a Joint Venture facilities in Germany, Hong-Kong and Singapore for duration of two weeks each, demonstrating leadership, planning skills and cultural sensitivity. These supported cost reduction opportunities by validating engine time on wing extension.Engineering Modern ApprenticeshipSept 2006 – July 2009Completed a three year Technical Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering while studying part time (see education). This involved working in nine different engineering teams for three months each, to gain exposure and understanding of the department. Show less
