      In addition to my policy role on Brazil, Indonesia, the Caribbean and Pacific Islands, I spent 50% of my time developing a central policy approach and evidence base on engaging new donors on supporting global public goods (climate change, health security, humanitarian standards etc.), reforming the rules based international system and sharing best practice in aid delivery. My tasks included: conducting research and drafting policy papers, programme proposals and information notes on engaging emerging donors on issues including climate change and trilateral cooperation; responding to strategic and corporate commissions; and managing DFID's global development partners network to enhance organisational learning and knowledge sharing. Show less I provided policy and programme support and acted as DFID's Whitehall-based representative for DFID’s Brazil, Caribbean and Indonesia country offices. I also acted as the main Whitehall-based lead for DFID's re-engagement work in the Pacific. My tasks included: liaising across government departments to develop UK strategy and evidence based policy recommendations for engaging in my portfolio countries; drafting briefings, submissions, and information notes for ministers and senior officials; enhancing DFID's statistical analysis of UK aid flows to my portfolio countries; developing press lines and core scripts; managing parliamentary business; planning ministerial visits; hosting official delegations; and supporting programme management in my portfolio countries.       The UNDRR's Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia (ROECA) assists 55 countries in the region to monitor and track achievements on implementing the Sendai Framework, develop and review DRR strategies, and convene stakeholders from across governments and sectors with the aim to share knowledge and develop evidence-based policy advice for strengthening disaster resilience.My responsibilities include:- communication, advocacy, briefing, and correspondence (incl. press releases, news articles, speeches, publications, reports, media engagement, social media etc.)- accelerating risk-informed investments, DRR financing and support for resilient infrastructure systems as regional lead- UN system coordination (with 17 UN country teams and Issue Based Coalition on Environment and Climate Change), supporting Voluntary National Reviews on SDG implementation, organising events, and other processes- focal point for South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC) Show less I worked in the Fiji-based Sub-Regional Office for the Pacific covering 11 Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and 3 territories. My tasks included:- representing UNDRR in disaster risk reduction (DRR) and risk financing - related technical working groups, and strategic planning processes, including stakeholders across national governments and development partners.- providing national counterparts with support to review and develop policies to encourage risk reduction activities in line with the Sendai Framework and Framework for Resilient Development in the Pacific.- managing the roll-out and delivery of national initiatives, such as the Fiji Disaster Risk Management Volunteer Scheme, and global programmes, including the Global Risk Assessment Framework.
