      During my postdoctoral fellowship, I worked in the fields of anti-cancer therapeutic research and combating antibiotic resistance. I established and managed several research facilities at the Centre of Excellence for Pharmaceutical Sciences including the tissue culture facility for cytotoxicity and cancer research, the Real-Time PCR laboratory and the analytic laboratory. Was responsible for the project management of several research projects in the fields of biochemistry, pharmaceutics, and nutrition. In this capacity, I managed small to mid-sized teams, were responsible for the budget of these projects and ensured there timely completion, scientific quality and effective collaboration between different stakeholders. This work resulted in 16 peer-reviewed publications, including 3 book chapters, and the training of several postgraduate students. Developed and presented a fortnightly course on basic virology and viral/bacterial outbreaks to the postgraduate students of the Centre of Excellence for Pharmaceutical Sciences, North-West University.
