My project, "Deciphering the Impact of Contribution Patterns on Open-Source Software: Quality and Security" aimed to develop a nuanced understanding of how contribution patterns influence the quality and safety of OSS.💻 Role and ContributionsIn a world increasingly reliant on OSS, the need for robust security measures has never been more pronounced. My role in this project was multifaceted – I designed innovative software tools to delve into the vast ocean of OSS repositories. Through meticulous research, I evaluated the most current scoring systems, extracting and analysing extensive datasets. This process was foundational in crafting a new scoring system that hinges on contribution metrics to gauge the security posture of OSS.The culmination of this research was the development of a scoring system that offers a fresh perspective on OSS quality and security, backed by an analysis of over 20,000 repositories and 100+ million individual commit data points.🏆 Best Presentation AwardPresenting these findings was not only a moment of professional pride but also an opportunity to contribute to the broader conversation about OSS security. It was an honour to be recognised by my peers and academics, receiving the Best Presentation Award for my efforts.
