      As a clinical nutrition practicum intern at Brigham and Women’s Bariatric Center, I have observed various surgical bariatric procedures, pre- and post-op nutrition classes, patient forums, and individual appointments with the bariatric team (i.e. bariatric physician, bariatric surgeon, bariatric psychologist, bariatric dietitian, etc.). I have had the chance to teach pre-op as well as post-op nutrition classes, and have counseled pre-op follow up, post-op follow op, and nutrition assessment patients while under observation by a bariatric dietitian. During my time there I also collected and interpreted data for a research project anticipating publication investigating the patterns in the pre-op lab values of new bariatric patients. Show less
