  Surge and Rapid Response Team Administration Officer

  The purpose of SRRT is to improve operational pliability across the civil service. The SRRT supports government departments to manage peaks in demand and to respond to emergency crises that may occur across the civil service. We can be deployed to any government department, sometimes with very short notice and we can be required to do many different things when we are deployed, from telephony and admin work, to face to face interactions with customers. During my time with the Surge and Rapid Response Team, I have been seconded to a number of different departments, including the Home Office, DHSC, DWP, DEFRA, ONS and the FCDO as well as doing work internally for HMRC.
