      As a first line supervisor, I have supervised every shift in Patrol, leading officers of varying tenure levels, and supervising various special assignments. While in Patrol, I served as a Sergeant Mentor in our Sergeant Development Program, I have mentored, taught, and coached nearly a dozen new supervisors in varying stages of their training and development as supervisors. I have also managed our department's Field Training program, overseeing all phases of the training, evaluation, and remedial training for new recruits in addition to the selection, coaching and mentoring of our Field Training officers.For two years, I served as our agency's Internal Affairs investigator, conducting numerous investigations of misconduct and policy violations, as well as record keeping, statistical analysis, and oversight/ management of confidential information. While serving as a Sergeant in the Police Administration Bureau, I conducted numerous Research/Development projects, drafted Policy updates and recommendations, and worked extensively on CALEA Accreditation. I performed several internal audits ensuring proper accountability and oversight of evidence, and ensuring we operated within policy on various departmental functions. I also supervised our Recruitment Unit, assisting with conducting several selection processes, background investigations, and employment recommendations. Lastly, I also supervised our agency's Training Unit, responsible for the creation and execution and planning of yearly training plans for each work group, as well as the upkeep of all training records for every department employee. I have served as our agency's Public Information Officer on numerous occasions, crafting news releases, media advisories, and on air interviews that ran worldwide.I currently oversee our Traffic Unit. I oversee a team of 10 officers and utilize a data driven approach to managing traffic safety and reducing crashes and DUI related crashes throughout the city. I was responsible for researching crime trends, and planning and executing specific community oriented responses and enforcement goals to mitigate and solve problems. I worked extensively with our respective enforcement units, community and business leaders, and neighborhood groups to tailor our problem solving efforts.Furthermore, as a member of Command Staff, I assisted in the creation and ongoing oversight of the departments' overall strategic planning and goals.
